Overview
Phil is a Principal Architect and people leader with nearly 30 years of experience in diverse industry sectors.
He has a broad range of business and technical knowledge, management ability and pragmatic solution skills gained from a solid foundation in software engineering working as an architect and leader within technology and business domains.
Over the span of his career, Phil has worked in Software Engineering, Management, Program Management, Enterprise and Technology Architecture and Change Management.
Phil is highly motivated, and genuinely interested in his work, and is able to communicate equally well with technical, and non-technical areas of the business. He has excellent decision making and problem analysis skills and a proven ability to think strategically, plan and prioritise, and bring others on the journey.
Phil is equally comfortable operating at all levels of an enterprise, whether seeking approval from Executive or the Board or helping mentor junior staff within the change environment.
Phil spent five years leading the transformation of an Australian financial services organisation, involving a complete overhaul of its technology to enable its aggressive growth targets in the digital era. He was accountable for the initial scoping, design and Board and Executive approval of a $90m 5-year roadmap. Phil then acted as the Program Architect throughout the life of the program and was a major contributor to its success.
In 2017, Phil founded 9Yards to establish a high-quality change and architecture practice within the Australian marketplace.
